After obtaining an honours degree in French Language and Literature from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, I spent five years working in international telecommunications followed by a year as a project manager for the UK division of an IT company, Nicator. I was relocated to Barcelona in early 2006 to help set up the Spanish division of Nicator, where I spent two years liaising between the Spanish, UK and Nordic management teams and translating project plans, business reviews, etc., from Spanish to English for the head office.

Now a well-established freelance translator with 15 years’ experience, I focus on translations from Spanish, French and Catalan into my native English, and work in a wide range of fields, including marketing, legal contracts and corporate documents, energy and the environment, academia, education, culture and the arts. I also work as a proofreader and copyeditor for various clients and translation agencies.

My current clients include the Universitat de Barcelona, Editorial Casals and Editorial Vicens Vives.
