After earning an honours degree in French Language and Literature from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, I spent five years working in international telecommunications, followed by a year as a project manager for the UK division of the IT company Nicator. I relocated to Barcelona in early 2006 to help establish Nicator’s Spanish division, where I spent nearly three years liaising between the Spanish, UK and Nordic management teams and translating project plans, business reviews and other key documents from Spanish to English for the head office.

Now a well-established freelance translator with over 16 years of experience, I specialise in translations from Spanish, French and Catalan into my native English, as well as proofreading and copyediting services. I work across a diverse range of areas, including corporate and business communication, science and technology, legal contracts, marketing, academia and research, teaching materials, social sciences, international development, cosmetics, art, culture, food, agriculture, tourism and hospitality. In fact, I feel comfortable tackling most subjects, since I’ve worked with a wide variety of texts and topics over the years.

My current clients include the Universitat de Barcelona, Editorial Casals, Editorial Vicens Vives, Saba Infraestructuras and International Correspondents in Education, in addition to prominent translation agencies such as Tradtec, Traditext, Aurea Cultura i Art, Lexia Park and Lexic Language Solutions.
